It does seem that innovations like social media must “bubble up.” At least that’s my experience over the years at work, and as a new committee member for a national professional association. The long-timers often want to protect their way of doing things. Rare is the mature person with the insight and energy to embrace the new. Geekiness certainly doesn’t hurt. ;^)
